Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in the initial ambush of Lone Survivor, was in David Goggins’ class at the time of his death. He was recognized as a Class of Honor graduate after completing his coursework. He has attended the event three times, twice for injuries, and once more to complete the epic Hell Week one more time. After four years in the Air Force, David Goggins enlisted in the Navy SEALs. Despite what you might think, David Goggins is an honorable champion who is not afraid to stand up for what he believes. He was later assigned to the 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1999 and served as an Airborne Infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Spartanburg High School in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Goggins was born in Buffalo, New York, and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He is also a world-renowned ultramarathon runner, ultra-distance cyclist, triathlete, motivational speaker, and author. David Goggins is a retired United States Navy SEAL and former United States Air Force Tactical Air Control Party member who served in the War in Afghanistan and the Iraq War.
